In Remembrance

For as long as I can remember, this day has brought a tear to my eye...long before I knew what this day really was..or what it really meant..I knew it was important...and it has always been important to me...

Remembrance Day is in essence a memorial day observed to remember the men and women in the armed forces who have died, and continue to die, in the line of duty.. and although we celebrate their bravery on the 11th hour of the 11th day, of the 11th month, our freedom celebrates them every day.

That minute of silence when the "Last Post" is played is profound, and we should treat it as such.

Thank You to all of the soldiers, their wives/husbands, their children, and their families who fought, who continue to fight... I appreciate you, and If you are one fighting right now, I wish you the safest of nights.

God Bless

Heather..

Here are some of my Remembrance Day favorites:

WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE
Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have picked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the young girls gone, long time passing?
Where have all the young girls gone, long time ago?
Where have all the young girls gone?
Gone for husbands everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the husbands gone, long time passing?
Where have all the husbands gone, long time ago?
Where have all the husbands gone?
Gone for soldiers everyone
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the soldiers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the soldiers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards, everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Gone to flowers, everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have picked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
